A cloaked figure emerges from the darkness under the floor in the lobby. They stretch their arms and, thus, show off gloves with long, sharp, claws attached, presumably for attacking. They look around and make some indiscernable movements, due both to the Lobby's darkness and the color (or lack thereof) of their cloak. The figure is tall, but skinny, however any other distinguishing features are hidden under the hood. The figure disappears, sinking down into their own shadow.
The cloaked figure reemerges a few minutes later out of the shadow cast by a posted map sign that juts out from the wall. The figure walks down the hall without hesitation as soon as their legs are free from the shadows. Their confidence suggests they know what they're doing, and has memorized the layout of the building; even the secret basement. After a bit of walking, they pull themself back into their own shadow.
Subject SingleWing of Project Sapling (henceforth referred to as "Chryses") emerges from his dorm. He peeks around, before heading towards a water fountain. There is nobody in his path... Until the cloaked figure emerges from Chryses's shadow, clamping his mouth shut with one hand, and injecting something into him with the other. Later drug testing reveals this injection was a sedative commonly used in Equinox-Solstice's testing, and as such, Chryses weakly passes out into the intruder's arms without putting up much of a fight. The cloaked figure scoops him up bridal style, before proceeding into Chryses's dorm room.
The cloaked figure puts Chryses down on his bed, and pulls the covers up over his unconscious body, making sure to tuck him in cleanly. They then pat his head, and exit the room to return to what they were doing.
The cloaked figure enters the lab for Project Enzyme Digestion.
The cloaked figure stands in the open doorway, paused. It is unsure why they stopped, but they then proceed to approach one of the glowing vats of melted-down souls. They take off their gloves briefly, before switching to disposable latex ones from their person; presumably from a pocket in the clothing under their cloak. They take an empty cell culture flask and use it to store some of the thick, oilslick liquid in one of the vats. They close the flask and deposit it somewhere under their cloak, before switching gloves once more. The latex gloves go into the trash with the others from the previous day, although no foreign DNA was found upon analysis of all the gloves in the trash can.
The cloaked figure returns to the hallway, closing the lab behind them.
The figure returns to their shadow.
The figure returns to the lobby, before going back into the shadows. They do not reemerge within Equinox-Solstice's security camera range.
A theft, huh. Reevaluate all evidence, and get HR to run a mandatory re-check on everyone, and interview them all. I want the results yesterday. The knowledge of the building, treatment of subjects, and usage of ES-standard sedatives implies this is an inside job. - M Aesop.
